Learning about “CAPITAL”

DAUPHIN COUNTY, PA — Neighboring Academy students in 9th (Mod 2) and 10th grades (Mod 4) have been testing out a new student centered curriculum from the Neighboring Group to learn how to leverage different forms of local neighborhood “capital”. Place-based lesson plans are developmentally designed with students to identify value often overlooked in local neighborhoods. In addition to financial literacy, Neighboring Academy students are being empowered to imagine ways to creatively transform the building blocks of capital into different forms for a more holistic understanding of wealth generation.
