Workforce Partnership with UPMC

DAUPHIN COUNTY, PA — Neighboring Academy juniors have helped to launch the “Future Life Changers” program in partnership with UPMC Harrisburg Hospital this past summer. This unique shadowing experience took place over 5 weeks where students rotated through a number of hospital departments where they were exposed to health care employment opportunities that they never knew existed. Several of these juniors have elected to continue their engagement with UPMC this fall as volunteers during the school day at the West Shore campus. As of December 1, 2024 six Neighboring Academy students in Module 6 have volunteered 229.98 hrs. Click here to see ABC-27’s coverage of student achievement!
